1) To work at London Pet Butler, you must truly love cats and dogs. All of our positions require hands on attention to cats and dogs of virtually all types. (However, we reserve the right to decline taking on pet clients of a decidedly aggressive nature or breed.) Some of the tasks expected of you will include supervising and playing with dogs and cats; taking dogs for relief walks; transporting dogs to and from their homes on foot. Light grooming, such as brushing fur. Cleaning up after dogs, cleaning out cat litter boxes, cleaning up other accidents, including, but not limited to pet vomit and fur balls. Speaking with parents regularly regarding their pets; completing incident reports; preparing food, towelling damp dogs and muddy paws. Administering oral or topical medications Entering numerous homes. Setting and resetting complex security alarms. Reading, listening to audio of and following through on intricate instructions.
2) Our services are available to clients 365 days per year, and so during all holidays, as well (i.e., Christmas, New Year’s Day, Super Bowl Sunday, Easter, July 4th, Thanksgiving and so on) and weekends. You will be expected to work some, but not all of these holidays. You will be paid a premium for doing so.
3) Employees are generally hired for the specific location of their fixed residence; however, you will be expected to occasionally pitch in as a contingency, whether helping out in the office, covering a co-worker’s area and duties temporarily, etc as needed All employees are expected to be team players. You may be expected to perform tasks outside of the scope of your normal day-to-day duties.
4) Employees are not given fixed schedules weekly. Meaning your schedule may vary from week to week, depending on parent activity and your performance.
5) All employees, irrespective of the position, are paid minimum wage for the first 40 hours of work as this is considered a training period. .
6) All employees are expected to be presentably attired and well-groomed at all times while on duty. This does not preclude your being able to wear sturdy and comfortable clothes and shoes (coats, hats, rain gear, etc.) to perform your duties. However, we do expect that you'll use utmost discretion in displaying potentially distasteful logos, motifs, emblems, insignia, etc.
7) You must have uninterrupted access (ownership or lease) to a motor vehicle in good condition with current Texas registration, license plates, and insurance.
8) Must be willing to submit to random drug testing, and to satisfactorily pass a criminal background check, driver’s license violation check, and previous employment verification check to be able to be covered under our comprehensive insurance policies.
9) Technology: Personal access to computer (PC, Apple, iPad), and smartphone capabilities (text messaging, email, internet browsing, camera) in order to communicate with staff, co-workers, and pet parents; receive instructions, schedules, updates, deliver reports, reply to instant messaging, etc.
10) Communications: Ability to communicate intelligently in writing and verbally with parents, particularly in regards to reporting on their pets’ activities, and/or their home welfare. Be able to intelligently compose and respond to text notes from staff and to parents on their pet's status and condition
11) Pet First Aid Certification: or ability to obtain in short order.
12) Physical Capabilities: Able to lift up to 45 pounds. Ability to work outdoors in extreme heat, extreme cold, rain, or snow.
13) References: Be able to provide excellent personal and work related references.
14) Time Availability: Able to commit to a solid block of time for at least one of the following: a) Morning (7pam – 9am) b) Mid Morning (9am – 11am) c) Midday (11am – 3pm) d) Afternoon (3pm – 6pm) e) Evening (6pm – 9pm) f) Overnight Sleepover at Clients' Homes (9pm – 7am) g) Slumber Parties (pet boarding in your home)
15) Discretion, Fidelity, Confidentiality: Strong constitution, upright character in being able to keep to a low profile and resist temptation and/or media pressure, in maintaining our clients' absolute right to privacy so far as the law allows.) |
